Braunstone Chess Club

The 2013 Braunstone Club Championships took place between June and September. With sixteen players, there were 4 groups of 4, World Cup style. Congratulations to Richard Hanscombe who beat Paul Colburn in the final to retain the title he won last year.

In the Stephen Hamby v Richard Hanscome semifinal, after two drawn standardplay matches the tie was decided by an armageddon match where Richard with White pieces managed to checkmate Stephen Hamby with 10 secounds remaining on his clock. So the final was between Paul Colburn and Richard Hanscombe.
